Stephen Turner

Steve TurnerStephen is an international environmental lawyer with a wide range of experience of business, industry and law. Stephen has an LLM from London University (SOAS) and a PhD from London University (Queen Mary). He has specific expertise in global environmental governance and is the author of “A Substantive Environmental Right” (Kluwer: 2009). Stephen has developed expertise advising in the forestry sector in West Africa as well as having expertise in the fields of environmental policy, infrastructure and voluntary carbon projects. Stephen is a senior lecturer at Kingston University. He is the managing director of EDC and speaks English and Spanish.

Rosie Oliver

Rosie OliverRosie Oliver is an environmental lawyer with wide ranging experience of developing, negotiating and drafting legislation and policies and advising on their implementation. Rosie trained as a solicitor in the UK Government Legal Service. After qualifying, she spent two years conducting planning litigation, and four years at the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs advising on water pollution, environmental liability and soil. Rosie has also worked in Bangladesh as a researcher for a development NGO. She has an honours degree in social and political sciences from Cambridge University and a masters degree in development studies from London University (SOAS).

Okechukwu Ejims

Okechukwu EjimsOkechukwu qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Nigeria in 2003. He has over 6 years multi- jurisdictional experience as a lawyer, investment consultant and researcher, an LLM in corporate and commercial law from London University and a PhD from Leeds University. Okechukwu specialises in international investment, trade and human rights. He is a member of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators (London) and has practiced law in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is a contributor in developing Oxford Reports on International Investment Claims and Bilateral Investment Treaties and teaches at Leeds University. Okechukwu speaks English and Igbo.

Andrew Stuart

Andrew StuartAndrew is a chartered accountant currently working in a large investment bank (Credit Suisse) in the City of London. Andrew has a broad range of financial reporting, audit & process improvement experience gained in a large range of companies in the UK & Canada. Recent work has mainly been on rolling out new financial reporting systems in financial sector companies (work that encompasses everything from writing the programming code to build new systems from scratch to running financial reporting education road shows in overseas offices). Andrew graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Economics & Politics. Andrew is the Company Secretary for EDC.

Sebastian Hess

Sebastian HessSebastian is an environmental economist with specific expertise in the interlinkages between poverty and the environment. He has worked on many developing country projects including valuations of watershed functions, environmental taxation and the sustainable contribution of CDM projects. He has also worked on the valuation of groundwater and surface water quality, and the valuation of services provided by coral reefs. He has worked on projects in Africa (Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa), Asia (Mongolia, Indonesia, The Philippines) and Latin America (Ecuador). He has a masters degree in Financial Economics and also an MSc in Environmental Economics from Amsterdam University. Sebastian speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish.
